1side Edge Tiles
1side edge tiles are derived from Wang edge tilesets, by reducing the number of different edges to one. In an edge tileset, an edge path affects one adjacent tile. They are similar to Block tiles, but have a design of maze paths. Like Block tiles, they always match adjacent tiles, without the need for Wang tile calculations.
Here is a complete 2edge Wang tileset.

By adding unconnected deadend paths to all empty edges with no path, we create a set of 1side tiles where all sides are the same.

Stage Array
We can place random tiles in an 18 x 12 array. There is no need to calculate tile index values as all tiles have the same side, and will therefore match automatically.

Reduced Tilesets
It is interesting to see the effect of using a small number of 1side tiles.
Note that paths on corner tiles can either join or crossover at tile corners. The two types of tile design can lead to different sets of tiles to create a balanced maze.
